Women and Water: The Dance
May 24, 2007- June 7, 2007
220 W 16th St
Work in mixed media (painting, prints, collages) by
Naomi Rosenblatt
This one-woman show combines prints of dancers and swimmers, photoetchings
based on Botticellišs Venus, and images of water.
In various aboriginal and Asian traditions, water is identified as a female
or "yin" element. These prints with collage are a kind of "visual
narrative" that explores the artist's personal and feminine experience of
water.
The work is soft, fresh and contemplative.
