On October 30, 2008, Affirmation Arts is pleased to present the exhibition, Christophe von Hohenberg: A Cornucopia in Photography. The opening event celebrates von Hohenberg’s photographic accomplishments, as well as his award-winning publication Andy Warhol: The Day the Factory Died (Empire Editions). The artist will be present at the opening and available to sign books.

Christophe von Hohenberg: A Cornucopia in Photography presents a retrospective of over 30 years of the artist’s vibrant career. The exhibition highlights a collection of von Hohenberg’s most poignant photographs and features a vast range of work including portraiture, nudes, photographic essays, and images from his Warhol book. In a suite of photographs von Hohenberg captures images of pop icons. The contemporary subject matter in Rockettes is presented via a classic, thoughtful composition. All photographs are various silver prints ranging from twenty by twenty inch single panels to a quadtych measuring forty by forty-four inches.

Christophe von Hohenberg studied art, philosophy and history in Germany, France and Spain, and then graduated from Schiller University in Paris before beginning his work with American Vogue. Later he expanded his career to work with such publications as Interview, Vanity Fair, Marie Claire, German Vogue, German Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, French Vogue, and Hamptons Magazine. The book Andy Warhol: The Day the Factory Died by Christophe von Hohenberg and Charlie Scheips received the Photo District News Photography Book Award and the AIGA Book Award in 2007. Von Hohenberg is represented by Empire Fine Arts in New York City. His work has been shown at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as The Grey Art Gallery in New York, the Art Interior in Berlin, and the Valentina Moncada in Rome. Recently, the artist had solo exhibitions at The Goss-Michael Foundation in Dallas and The Amerika Haus in Munich; and was recently featured in Andy Warhol at Rudolf Budja Galerie in Salzburg. Christophe von Hohenberg divides his time between New York City, the Hamptons and the West Indies.
