Agora Gallery, located at 530 West 25th Street, New York City, showcases four Contemporary Art at its Best exhibitions, running from January 2nd to the 23rd in its enlarged Chelsea gallery. The exhibition showcases the anticipated collective of international artists in an introspective that spans media as diverse as bronze and oil. Beyond Borders: An Exhibition of Fine Art from Canada Narrative and semi-abstract works that combine a sense of narrative with the irrational quality of abstract depiction, presents images of imaginary characters and landscapes that echo the undercurrents of postmodern pluralism. Spanning diverse media and approaches to the visual medium, the exhibition forms a unique reflection on contemporary narrative painting. The Color of Motion Taking an introspective stance at expressive abstraction, The Color of Motion presents artists whose work spans various spheres of abstraction, from probing free-form subconscious streams to composing recognizably figurative representations in undefined settings. Anne Elisabeth Hogh and Beatriz Domingo explore movement and direction through graphic, color-rich canvases, while Leona Whitlow and Han Yoon Jung delve into the representation of the irrational, based on the presence and absence of color and shape. Vincent Fitches’ subtle use of organic space takes the figurative into abstract spaces. The Portal of Reconciliation The Portal of Reconciliation presents Lebanese artist E. Azar, in a solo show of vibrant acrylics that unite the primitively fantastic with a contemporary sensibility, as seen through a naïve lens of theatrical presentation and kaleidoscopic color compositions.
