For over 25 years this show has been a magnet for all photography fans, from novices buying their first photograph to some of America’s top museum curators looking for something really unusual. There are over 400 photographs for sale by such masters as Edward Curtis, Lewis Hine, Karl Blossfeldt & Ansel Adams, to the redoubtable anonymous vernacular photograph. Everything from the ridiculous to the sublime vies for the collector’s attention, with special groups of images purchased exclusively for this sale. Reductions up to 60%!

The show explores the pleasures of the inexpensive at a time when prices for collectible photographs are soaring. They often offer a wonderfully fresh vision which can still be found if you spend all year looking for them as we do. In fact some major museums have some of our “bargains” on display in their permanent collections. It’s all serious fun.

This Year’s Sale Features

This year, as every year we honor our hometown, the city we love – New York. This year we will feature work by Coburn, Hine, Eugene de Salignac, Fassbender, Macy, Underwood & Underwood and for the first time pinhole photography of New York by Stefan Killen.

Also featured are Sarah Bernhardt, NASA, a flight of Angels - the rarest of all winged creatures; American creative inappropriateness including the pumpkin that ate the farm… oh yes, and some Tsunami aftermath photographs which are both beautiful and frightening.

Of more national and international interest we will also be featuring an Eisenstaedt surprise, and works by Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Edward Curtis and Camera Work plates. There will also be work by Misonne, Blossfeldt, Frith, Bonfils, Beato and others. 19th Century views of the U.S., England, France, Italy (che bella cosa!), India, China and Japan will also be available. Variety is definitely the name of this game. Come play.

Prices range from $5 to $5,000 with lots in between. A selection of the work is available for viewing on our website – www.klotzgallery.com Click on “Sales & Bargains”
