"Urban Movement" is the second solo show, in NYC, for British Artist,
Helen Brough. This exhibition is a return to painting for an artist who is known for her large scale sculptural pieces, such as the permanent piece at 70 Washington Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
The paintings will range in size from 12" x 12" to 48 " x 48 " and are inspired by the sense of speed and movement from living and working in New York City.

Helen Brough is a British artist, trained at Chelsea School of Art in London. Her awards include the; Prix de Rome, a Soros Foundation exhibition grant and a Pollock/Krasner Foundation award. Residencies include Triangle Arts Association and the 2004 Triangle workshop.
Exhibitions include solo shows at Kristen Frederickson New York and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Group shows include "Projects 04" at the Carriage House / Islip Art Museum, Islip, NY and "Pave paradise"
Allen Gallery Chelsea.
In 2006 her permanent sculpture commission "Emulated Flora" opened at 70 Washington Street, DUMBO / Brooklyn, NY.
In 2007 Helen started working with Allen gallery and was represented by the gallery at SCOPE Miami 2007as their featured artist.
Director Michel Allen, of
Allen Gallery, completed a Masters in Visual Art and Business Administration from NYU. Previous to starting
Allen Gallery, Michel worked at artnet.com, art and Auction and Sotheby's in trust and estates.
