[A Pictorial Border Pursued through Folk Songs]
Wan-Suk Goh’ s paintings are the manifestation of his endeavors to transform the world of folk song’s in a pictorial way. In other words, his paintings are the exploration about how musical and pictorial borders of folk songs come to meet and how they are transformed. The encounter between music and drawings is not uncommon in oriental paintings. Essentially, they have had the same border. They have been only different expression of the same world. For Wan-suk Goh’ painting folk songs is based on these historical contexts of oriental paintings.
