Phillipe Vasseur 2008
June 5, 2008- June 28, 2008
Reception: June 5, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
547 W 20th St
Axelle Fine Arts brings one of our finest artists for his first full show in our Chelsea gallery.
Phillipe Vasseur’s mysterious figures and wholly original approach to landscapes make him a complete original. Born in Lisieux France to a family of craftsmen, Vasseur studied at the London Academy of Drawing and the prestigious Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
From exhibiting in Paris galleries to illustrating book covers of classic literature all by the age of 21, Vasseur’s work has continually evolved to establish a successful presence for over 30 years in Europe and America. Deep sienna and umber hues contrast with subdued blues to document the mysterious narratives that Vasseur plays out on his canvasses. June 5th 2008, ongoing throughout June. Please RSVP for the June 5th reception at 212-226-2262 or at newyork@axelle.com
