BravinLee programs is pleased to inaugurate our second year with an exhibition by
Dan Kopp.
Kopp’s landscapes evoke notions of apocalypse. The artist’s depictions of a toxic wasteland are brightly hued and composed of eerily contrasting jagged edges and saturated washes of color. The viewer is left unsure of what has transpired, or of what is left to come. For this series, Kopp has added a figurative element to the work, further complexifying the artist’s epic.
Kopp’s work has been shown in New York, Dallas, and elsewhere, and he has been included in major group exhibitions including P.S.1’s “Greater New York” in 2005. He received his MFA from the Cleveland Instute of Art.
