The
Brenda Taylor Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of works by
Leslie Bostrom. Bostrom’s Bird Disaster Series are direct, hard-hitting pictures that make a bold statement against the destruction of the environment.
Bostrom’s Bird Disaster series are large scale paintings and smaller watercolor studies that take an unflinching look at the ways humans are abusing their environment. The works reflect her continued commitment to political and environmental causes and her interest in ornithology. Their grandiose scale and subject offer a mixture of emotions in the viewer and a multiplicity of meanings.
Bostrom holds an MFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from the University of Maine, Orono. She is Associate Professor of Art at Brown University.
