Dangerous Beauty: Symposium
March 21, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
556 W 22nd St
In connection with the exhibition Dangerous Beauty, the
Chelsea Art Museum will hold a symposium to discuss many of the issues raised by our society’s ideal of beauty: impossibly thin, perfect, young and younger. The panelists will discuss, from their particular perspectives, the effect of living in the shadow of such images of beauty that, without manipulation, may have no human incarnation; images that are deliberately designed to stir up feelings of inadequacy and self doubt.
