Memoir of Freedom
February 28, 2008- March 22, 2008

Memoir of Freedom was born as an act of fait, an attempt by the 55 artists who took part to breathe new life into the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations in 1948. The idea of a major project uniting art and the never-ending quest for freedom was spearheaded by Joseph Beuys in 1984. Memoir of Freedom was created as artists from all over the world contributed work to accompany the 30 articles of the Declatation.
