Claire Oliver Gallery is proud to present
Judith Schaechter’s Burning Inside: a solo exhibition of the artist’s most recent stained glass lightboxes. In this, the Artist’s third solo exhibition in the Gallery, Ms. Schaechter continues her interest in the solitary figure and its’ relationship in some greater social context. “My figures reflect my feelings about people in general but usually not specific people or relationships” explains the Artist, “sometimes they are fantasies.” A significant addition to this exhibition will be a second exhibit in the lower level the gallery featuring Ms. Schaechter’s complex drawings, not previously shown.
Included in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Contemporary Art Collection, as well as those of the Philadelphia Museum, The Carnegie Museum of Art and many other important institutions worldwide, this Guggenheim Fellow and past Whitney Biennale participant further solidifies her place as an extraordinary cross over artist, working in a medium previously unexplored in the Contemporary art world.
