About Groundswell Community Mural Project
Groundswell has much to celebrate! This summer’s Summer Leadership Institute employed seventy-five teenagers to create six murals around Brooklyn and Harlem—earning this summer’s youth the title: New Yorkers of the Week from NY1 News. A special partnership with the Red Hook Justice Center helps graffiti offenders serve time through after-school programs which, this fall Groundswell will replicate at several sites. This year Groundswell was also awarded the Turning Point Award for community service in Sunset Park, Brooklyn..
