530 W 25th StSouth gallery. Inviting yet denying usable space, Dike Blair's installations reference cool, corporate ease and sublime, contemporary design. With time, more subtle handmade qualities and eccentric formal decisions disrupt the sense of reductive minimalism. Accompanying representational gouaches based on the artist's snapshots of landscaping plants and blasé architectural details round out the conceptual mode of the sculpture with a reality which flirts with greeting card sentimentality and the ponderous issues of images mediated by photography.
