First Floor Gallery is pleased to present Lisa Renko and Michael Matel's transformational approach to installation as its inaugural exhibition. Both artists, traditionally schooled, yet well established for their radical self-expression chic in the underground New York City and San Francisco party scenes, bring a vital, unadulterated energy to their installation/performance work. A medley of living plants, painted artifacts, poems, ramblings, trash, notebooks, paintings, club invites, and random unwanted items left behind by party goers, strikes a balance between reverance and irreverance, order and chaos, and suggests to the viewer/participant a new spirituality, a new approach to the transcendental.
