Reception: January 10, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The
Fischbach Gallery is pleased to present “Landmarks by
John Falato opening 10 January 2008 and continuing through 9 February 2008. There will be a reception for the artist on Thursday, January 10, from 5pm to 7pm.
Painting with a highly detailed eye, Falato works to allow the delicate ambience of nature’s scene to go undisturbed.
“As a painter,” says Falato, “I respond to dramatic situations of light and shadow in nature. The natural world is so overwhelming, as a whole, that if I am able to convey a piece of it I feel successful.
I don’t know why other artists choose their subjects. I paint what I know, and what I know is Connecticut. The surfaces of leaves, bark, stones, water, and the special quality of Connecticut light is something that has continuously fascinated me. Through realistic detail I convey what I see in nature.”
LANDMARKS offers a sincere portrayal of rural Connecticut landscapes.
Born in 1940,
John Falato attended the Paier College of Art and University of Hartford. He currently teaches at the Paier College of Art and lives in Northford, Connecticut. This is his second exhibition at the
Fischbach Gallery.
