The feeling of loss is undeniably powerful, and any attachment in life opens the door for its arrival. Lost Art is an assembly of paintings by
Fischbach Gallery Artists that explores the unique impact loss has on the individual. In this haunting exhibition, we find artists expressing, through landscapes and still lifes, their personal interpretations of and experience with abandonment--whether missing, forgotten, or forever left behind. [...] Lost Art will feature recent paintings by Gallery artists. [...]
"Now when I had mastered the language of this water and had come to know every trifling feature that bordered the great river as familiarly as I knew the letters of the alphabet, I had made a valuable acquisition. But I had lost something, too. I had lost something which could never be restored to me while I lived. All the grace, the beauty, the poetry had gone out of the majestic river!" Life on the Mississippi, Mark Twain
