G. R. N’Namdi Gallery is pleased to announce the opening reception for
Charles Searles (1937-2004) entitled, “Guardian” a 30 year retrospective of works on paper, relief work, paintings and painted wood on September 14th 2007. This exhibition runs through November 10th.
Works of art by
Charles Searles (1937 - 2004) are life-affirming odes complementing sensory perceptions encountered daily. Whether expressed in two dimensions with paint on a wall or canvas or in three dimensions of wood or bronze, Searles created complex compositions that communicate with the individual while encompassing the hemisphere. The human factor is always present, whether in a two dimensional representation or an abstract form that seems about to transition into an individual: never at rest, always in motion, intricate rhythms evolving into works of art.
