Touch: The Appetite of Skin
December 3, 2005- January 7, 2006

"I work to capture and pass on evidence of caring: touch, generosity, rest and redemption. I create space for re-envisioning relationship with the self, our environments and each other.
The physical and metaphorical elements, with which I work, often begin as having been abandoned or distressed. Making or finding them frayed or separated I work to reclaim them. I stretch across pitted surfaces to join new seams, cross former boundaries- to bind, mend, and to form new wholes. Nothing is only about itself. One thing always includes or signifies others- a previous existence or alternative context. Seeing events and situations in life as in constant flux, constructing, re-interpreting themselves, and migrating, I create scenarios in which dialogues among, objects, personal experiences and stored memories, can take place. My creative impulse arises from those tensions."
