Reception: January 11, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

ART&IDEA presents two simultaneous solo exhibitions, I’m Gonna Change the World:
Paulina Lasa (curated by Claudia Arozqueta) and It’s Almost Real, Isn’t It?: Alex Dorfsman. This will be the first solo exhibition in New York City for
Paulina Lasa and Alex Dorfsman, both natives of Mexico City.
Paulina Lasa is determined to change the world. She takes a pro-active and intentionally naïve approach to transforming her urban environment which is infected with social malaise, bureaucratic red tape, and almost imperceptible abuses that take place on a daily basis. Her multi-media attempt at changing the world through video work, drawings, light boxes, and a special performance is a refreshing and welcome strategy. On display will be A Month in Mexico City or Why Can’t I be Michael Moore?—a prescient documentary that examines her malfunctioning surroundings.
Paulina Lasa has shown in major international museums and galleries, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, D.C.), the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain) and the Centro de Arte Joven (Madrid, Spain). Lasa has also been involved with writing and curatorial projects.
