A selection of photographic works from the collection of Rex Capital, Rhode Island. An exhibition of over 120 vintage and contemporary photographic works depicting images of artists. Employing wide-ranging technical and formal approaches, the artists in this exhibit train the lens on themselves and each other. Tending away from pure document or pure aesthetics, these images examine the varied notions of ‘artist' and portraiture. The images are as often humorous and experimental, as they are disturbing and psychological. The iconic status of the artist personality is both revered and subverted; the individuals exposed and obscured.
