John Eric Byers Repetitive Marks. A 2005 recipient of The Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, Byers’ status as a talent in contemporary furniture has been established. As the exhibition title implies, Byers’ work is a study in repetition. Each piece of furniture (whether it be a cabinet, bench or table) is hand-built, carved and painted in layers creating a subtle, meditative appearance.
