Darrell Nettles: New Works 2006
February 17, 2006- March 18, 2006
511 W 25th St
Shown in The Project Room
The recent work of Darrell Nettles is based on the idea of “Standard Measure,” which refers to an analytical and systematic process involving measurements of measurements. By utilizing the basic elements of line, Nettles creates a framework of a grid, which is ultimately manipulated through the implementation of arcs and gesture lines. As a result, a new space is defined. Nettles states that “in the finished work the elements combine into a result that is a coherent record of a dynamic event, at once logical and yet born from spontaneity and impulse.”
