School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents, “Rabid Rabbit,” an exhibition showcasing original comics and illustrations from the mighty mini-comic anthology Rabid Rabbit. Curated by MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Department chair Marshall Arisman, the exhibition will be on view from November 27 – December 16, at the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26th Street, 15th floor, New York City.
This exhibition highlights the diverse and striking work that artists have contributed to the magazine, including work by founders and alumni
C.M. Butzer,
S.Y. Choi,
Paul Hoppe and
Ben X. Trinh, and other MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Department alumni. Rabid Rabbit was founded in 2005 and is published quarterly. It collects the work of various talented New York-based illustrators and cartoonists. Each magazine is centered on a specific theme; the diversity and high degree of professional quality have attracted celebrated artists such as Marshall Arisman, Steven Guarnacia and David Sandlin, as well as noted up-and-comers Sakura Maku, Fay Ryu and Anuj Shrestha. Each comic artist will exhibit the original art they have created for the publication.
