Open Book will be engaging, participatory, and cooperative event. Artists who work in book form are invited to share their production and process with other artists and interested viewers. Artists may submit one copy of their publication to be included in an open viewing reception at the gallery.
Open Book will accomplish a number of goals:
- Provide a forum for artists to participate in the viewing of their books, typically an experience that occurs outside of their purview
- Create an interconnecting network of shared information and interchange between artists and interested viewers
- Bring a social aspect to the inherently private pursuit of reading and experiencing books
Artists who would like to participate in Open Book should submit one copy of their publication to: Sara Meltzer Gallery 525-531 West 26th Street New York NY 10001 no later than July 6th. Only the first 100 submissions will be accepted.
