Sixtyseven is pleased to announce the opening of the first New York
solo exhibition of
Wendy White. The show will consist of White's most
recent abstract paintings and sculptures. White’s painting process
combines intuitive and calculated gestures, seemingly misplaced
brushstrokes are often the conclusions of decisions based on material
or physicality. White says her work is based on "...the intersection
of the natural and manmade, the polluted landscape of the future,
space junk, buried hazardous material, and urban sprawl as eyesore.”
This is evident in her sculptures, the collisions of colors and found
objects piled on top of one another create their own dizzying
environments.
