ROBERT RAHWAY ZAKANITCH lives and paints in New York City. A founder of the Pattern and Decorative movement,
Robert Rahway Zakanitch had his first solo exhibition in 1965. He was awarded a Guggenheim Foundation grant in 1995. His work is represented in many public collections, including Whitney Museum of American Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Phoenix Art Museum, Denver Art Museum, The Art Museum at Princeton University, and Vassar College Museum. Zakanitch’s work for the past 25 years has exemplified his ideal of nurturing, and continues in this series. Charms is a new body of work that developed out of his Aggressive Endearment Series, which was exhibited at
Spike Gallery in 2005.
