Nicole Wermers will present Doors and Bouncers, an exhibition of new sculpture and collage in Gallery 2. These new pieces fuse formal aspects of modernism with the glamorously superficial aesthetics of consumer culture, furthering Wermers’ investigation of the corporate strategies that shape society’s behavior. Living and working in London, Nicole Wermers’ recent exhibitions include Earring, public sculpture project, Camden Arts Centre, London, 2006 (solo); Around The World In 80 Days, ICA London and South London Gallery, 2006 (group); Tate Triennal, curated by Beatrix Ruf, Tate Britain, London, 2006 (group); The Subversive Charm Of The Bourgeoisie, Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, 2006 (group); Nicole Wermers, Camden Arts Centre, London, 2005 (solo); and Chemie, Secession, Vienna, 2004 (solo); among others.
