320 W 13th StWhite Columns will showcase artwork by emerging artists recognized nationally by The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. The prestigious program, now celebrating its 85th year, offers early recognition for creative teenagers and scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors. Distinguished past recipients include Richard Avedon, Red Grooms, Robert Indiana, Tom Otterness, Zac Posen, Robert Redford, David Salle, Andy Warhol and Charles White, who received recognition when they were in high school.
White Columns will present the work of twelve high school seniors honored with the highest level of achievement, the Portfolio Gold Award. The twelve recipients will each receive a $10,000 cash award and special recognition.
