Aimee Margolis co-Director of YB1 Artist Group from 1991-92 with Lisa Renko helped with the name of the group from the original name of All-4-One to the final name of YB1. Lisa Renko came up with the concept and searched for the artists in the evolving art group that painted on pre-sectioned segments on large canvases. Aimee who chronicled the groups exploits in a journal, and documented the meetings with video and photography until the untimely demise of the group in 1992 by the overt over painting by Lisa Renko of other artists sections making each painting observable as a Lisa Renko piece. The finished six paintings when complete, look like a patch work of flowing styles merging as one, by the many various artists that participated in the YB1 Art Group. The work can be seen at Firtst Floor Gallery on 552 West 24th Street New York City. | |
