Anthony Howard

After dropping out of high school Anthony Howard moved out into the back woods to apprentice for sculp-tor, Mark Pilato. Two years later he enrolled at PRATT Institute, NY. Since the making of the Oui We, Anthony Howard has been asked to speak as a guest artist at the Massachusetts Film Society and the New York Film Society. He was a film history instructor at New York State College and acted in the independent movie Milk & Honey (2003) by Joe Maggio. In 2004 he gave actor-workshops in Slovenia and The Netherlands and was invited to disrupt a theatre performance in France.

Since Oui We Anthony Howard is making mostly performance-based video’s. Works like The Degenerate Artist, Clown of God, Emotional Man and Retard Art are brought together on compilation tapes in edition (Anthony Howard’s Video Jerk off and The Anthony Howard likes himself- a lot Video)
Besides this he works on documentaries about underground and street culture like B.I.K.E and Streetball.

His first gallery show in Europe took place in December 2003 at Ellen de Bruijne Projects in Amsterdam.

Oui We was created at PRATT Institute as a thesis film. Beginning there it held several successful shows on campus in both theatres and in gallery settings. It’s attention continued as it moved on to shows at The Pink Pony, Alchemy, The Library, The Collective Unconscounce and the Dumbo Film Festival, in which it won the audience award, in New York. It quickly became an official entry to film and short film festivals in North-America and Europe.
