POP ART 1960's - 2000's | Posted: 2007-05-29 |
[From Mike Weiss Gallery]
We are excited to announce that works by John Newsom are included in the exhibition POP ART 1960’s – 2000’s, which was recently on view at the Museum of Modern Art in Ibaraki, Japan, and which will now travel to the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art and then to the Hachioji Yume Art Museum. The exhibition features 131 works by 43 artists, including Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Vik Muniz, Marina Kappos, David LaChapelle and many others, representing a cross section of the postwar American art scene. This summer John Newsom will be featured in the exhibition Vs., along with Carlos Matter, Amy Myers and Arnulf Rainer, which opens at Mike Weiss Gallery on June 7, and in an exhibition at Patrick Painter in Los Angeles, with Peter Saul and H.C. Westermann. His work will also be on view in an exhibition that opens in September at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, NY.
