Reynard Loki is a musician, artist, DJ, writer and editor. Loki has held editorial and programming positions at AOL Music, RollingStone.com, GetMusic.com and Reelteen.com. He has also worked as an on- and off-camera host, interviewing artists such as Luna, Elliott Smith, Rinocerose, Peaches and King Britt. In 2003, appeared on the reality TV show “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (co-produced by the BBC and The Learning Channel). Currently playing drums for band NEW YORK, Loki has played in various bands in New York and England since 1991, and is also a member of two experimental music projects, Transport and AUX. A New York City party promoter since 1993, Loki produced and DJ’ed the monthly multimedia CJ/VJ event Interpol at Plant Bar (2001-02), where he also produced and DJ’ed Lite Nite, a soft-rock/soft-porn Seventies-themed party. From 1995-1999, he hosted annual art happenings as part of the "T-Minus" series, which brought together individuals from all creative disciplines in the spirit of Fluxus/Conceptual Art. He has exhibited art at Sara Meltzer Gallery, Cuchifritos, The Center for Book Arts, Gigantic ArtSpace, The Brewster Project, Parking at Highbridge Park, The School of Visual Arts, Gale Gates, Vision 21 Gallery and the Walt Whitman Birthplace, and has performed at many venues in New York, including the Knitting Factory and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Loki received a BA in English literature and creative writing from New York University, where he also studied art history and music theory before joining the MFA Fine Arts Program at the School of Visual Arts.
