Madeline Giotto

Multi-media Artist

Madeline Giotto, a first generation American, grew up on a farm in Harrington Park, NJ. She inherited her family's love of art, music, photography and nature. She began studying piano at the age of five, eventually adding accordion and guitar to her repertoire. At the age of nine, she learned the family talent for sewing that she utilized in creating hand-made clothing, handbags and pillows offered in galleries and shows in and around the Metropolitan area.

After graduating from Trenton State University in 1971with a BS in Education, Madeline began a thirty-two year career as an elementary school teacher. In 1984, she completed her Master’s degree in Art from Montclair University and attained a Black Belt in Karate. Madeline continued her artistic studies in drawing, painting, writing and illustrating for children and sculpture at the Art Student's League and the School of Visual Arts. She received college scholarships to study art and culture in Switzerland and Italy and later returned to Europe study the culture.

From 2004-present, she gives children’s art classes in the Ramsey Adult School, The Art Center of Northern New Jersey, and privately.
Madeline continues to explore multi-media imagery that reflects her diverse past.
