Originally from El Salvador, Osvaldo Castillo's work focuses on mixed media drawings exploring the possibilities of narrative. His work is primarily rooted in traditional printmaking techniques such as woodcut, lithography and offset printing processes in relation to drawing with emphasis on convergence. Osvaldo completed his MFA degree at Concordia university and has also obtained notable awards like the Toronto and Ontario Art council grants and The Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation grant among others. He has also participated in many group shows throughout Toronto, Montreal, and internationally. Some include the 5th international print triennial in Egypt, The 2007 Beyond/In Western New York Biennial and the Toronto International Art fair among others. He lives and works in Montreal, Canada. |
