We are delighted to announce that Robin Rhode has won the second annual W South Beach Commission for his presentation at Perry Rubenstein Gallery's container in the Art Position section of Art Basel Miami Beach. With this award, Rhode will create and install a large-scale photographic work on site in the new W South Beach Hotel to be completed at the end of 2008. The jury for the prize included Tom Eccles, Lisa Phillips, and Aby Rosen.
In fall 2007, Rhode will be the focus of his first solo show in a European museum at the Munich Haus der Kunst. Curated by esteemed curator, Stephanie Rosenthal, the exhibition will be accompanied by a monograph published by Hatje Cantz that will focus on his multimedia works to date. Rhode will also be part of a group exhibition at The Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, Japan. In May of 2007, Rhode will exhibit new work in all three of our gallery spaces, creating an expansive multimedia presentation of photography, sculpture, video and drawing. | |
